We decided that today we'd walk into the town - mainly to visit the market. We started by eating too much at the expansive buffet breakfast, then needing to recover from this. Which also let us monitor the weather, as there were grey clouds coming in. So we did get rained on, but not heavily and we had those cheap, disposable rain ponchos (which we don't dispose of and have been using for a decade). The first part of the walk was along the main road but mostly it was through a pleasant waterfront park.
The market itself was fine. The was a flower section, a fruit and vegetables part, then souvenirs (shells, sarongs, wooden carvings) and cultured pearls. Again they were expensive (around $20 for a stubbie holder) and we didn't need anything. The surrounding area was full of similar things, so we walked back again.
In the afternoon we got a baguette from Carrefour for lunch again, read, swam in the pool, and went back to the supermarket to get a chicken and potatoes for dinner. We did look into doing a tour over the weekend without success.
